Chard

I came out this morning to find that my chard is completely out of control.  From the windows across the street, it must look like some mutant plant that is trying to jump out of the growing bed.  The little bugs living in it do not seem to harm it.  When I planted my first Swiss Chard plant three years ago, I decided to parent it based on the Haight Ashbury hippie model: "let it be".  BIG mistake.  According to every gardener I spoke with, chard likes to be cut regularly.  Judge for yourself.
